Fury of the Storm - A Poem
I hide from it but trouble finds me.
You think this is out of cowardice; you are sadly mistaken.
Yes, I am afraid but not of you.
I beg for peace.
I ask this for your welfare.
You see my age, my kindness, and my compassion as weaknesses.
Your hubris wrongs you.
Your ignorance of my nature will be your downfall.
But you came knocking and I now must answer.
I am a storm.
I am fury.
I am a force of nature.
There will be no shelter.
There will be no safe quarters.
There will be no sanctuary.
For I am a storm.
